What Does LEV Testing Check?

Verifies the system meets relevant COSHH and HSE guidance requirements.
What's Included in Your LEV Report?
Following your LEV test, you will receive a clear report showing the condition and performance of your extraction system and whether it is operating effectively.

This report provides documented evidence that your LEV system has been thoroughly examined and tested in line with COSHH Regulation 9 and HSE guidance.
Detailed measured airflow readings and system performance data
Observations on filters, ductwork, fans, motors, and extraction points

Why is LEV testing Important?
Aircheck test LEV systems to the correct regular intervals in line with HSG258. Depending on the system of control, this is normally every 14 months. COSHH regulation 9 state that employers have a legal duty of care that all systems are maintained in efficient working order and ensure all employees are protected from inhaling any harmful substances.

Employers must ensure LEV systems are regularly tested, properly maintained, and operating effectively to control exposure to hazardous substances.

Most LEV systems require a thorough examination and test at least every 14 months, although some applications may require more frequent inspection depending on the process and risk level.

Localised Exhaust Ventilation Testing (LEV)
Local Exhaust Ventilation checks that LEV systems are performing to the correct standard of design and ultimately controlling airborne contaminants such as dust, fumes, vapours, and overspray. Occupational Hygiene is also part of the examination ensuring that the end user is fully aware of the correct PPE whilst carrying out the task(s). All this is measured through detailed quantitative and qualitative assessments. Our qualified engineers hold BOHS P601/P603/P604/M200 and working towards achieving certificate of competence CoC (Control).
Aircheck LEV reports have been scrutinized by HSE and therefore meet the standards required.
